Apologies have been offered to commuters on the Jubilee line who were severly delayed on Tuesday evening due to faulty signalling equipment.

The line was part suspended from about 5pm due to a broken relay, which is an expensive part of the signalling system.

Problems began at Bond Street 4.53pm and workmen made it on-site by 5.05pm when they stopped trains and began running tests.

The first train went through at 6.14pm and were running at full speed by 6.25pm.

The relay, which is due to have a lifeline of 10 years was only two years old. It has been sent for specialist analysis.

Tube Lines spokeswoman Laura Cox said: "We sincerely apologised to those who had their journeys home disrupted by this.

"The problem was rectified in an hour and a half, which is quite good for a problem of this kind."

Well all I can say is that at Canary Wharf it was a mess. With the DLR running what it seems to be a reduced service due to the construction work of the new platforms and a Stratford train every 10mins (at around 5.50pm), there was a great crush and not enough information being conveyed to the people.
Whatever happended to joined up thinking and cooperation. And when can we please have more trains to Stratford....one every 3mins would be ideal...
