The Force will be strong at The O2 next year when a spectacular Star Wars show premieres at the venue.

Star Wars: A Musical Journey will be showcased at the arena on Friday, April 10. The show features parts of all six films, edited down to two hours, with live narration and music from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The project is a collaboration between Lucasfilm, producers of the movies, and John Williams, who composed the iconic score.

An exhibition will run alongside the show featuring memorabilia from the films, including original models, props, costumes and production artwork.

David Campbell, Chief Executive of AEG Europe, owners and operators of The O2, said: "Star Wars holds memories for practically everyone. John Williams is the composer of our times, and fans will be thrilled to know that both he and Lucasfilm have contributed fully to this new production.

"To have the premier at The O2 is a real coup for us, and I know there will be a lot of very happy Star Wars fans out there when they hear the news."

Tickets, priced between £30-£100, go on sale to the general public on Monday December 15 at www.theo2.co.uk and by calling 0844 856 0202.

Star Wars is not the only spectacular heading to The O2.

American pop sensation Beyonce will play a date at the arena on Monday, May 25 as part of her I Am...Sasha Fierce world tour.

Tickets are available from www.theo2.co.uk.
