New year, new outlook

Cherry Green contemplates a major shift in her life

It seems that I am the latest victim of the credit crunch. Not only is my poor column coming to an end, but the day job looks a bit screwed too.

Not one to mither, I am coming up with a plan of such genius and cunning that it will amaze and astound you – I’m going to bog off on holiday for a month.

Genius eh? The reason I can afford to do this is that I’ve spent the last year scrimping and saving and trying to buy a house.

I’ve now come to the conclusion that it is a waste of money to buy a house at a ludicrous interest rate that will probably be worth 47p in a year or two.

Friends who work in the financial world are also assuring me that my savings will also be worth squat in the coming years.

So spending them and thus kick starting the economy is my one woman way of ending the recession.
And yes, this column is to be no more.

I shall miss desperately emailing my friends on a Friday morning and panickedly asking if anything exciting had happened to them this week.

If you are interested in reading my grumblings into cyberspace, then feel free to check out my new blog that shall be up and running in the new year www.biscuitsforgirls.blogspot.com.

It will be co written with my new comedy writing partner who is much funnier than me.

Feel free to check it out, but those who like to read my column only to be outraged by how rubbish they think it is are not encouraged.

You have no excuse not to go out and make friends now.

Happy new year!
