Bermondsey boxer David Haye has threatened to knock Monte Barrett out in three rounds when they meet on Saturday night.

The duo came face to face in a heated press conference in which Barrett was scathing of his treatment by Haye's publicity team.

Haye and Barrett were speaking on Friday outside The O2 arena before their heavyweight title fight.

The 37-year-old American said he was unhappy with his accommodation and had not been given enough food.

He said: "They have given me £30 a day to eat with and that's not enough for a heavyweight boxer.

"And then they put me in a hotel that's a short stay hotel. In America a short stay is where men take their mistress to have sex.

"I'm pretty sure David Haye wouldn't stay in the hotel I'm staying in."

He also claimed a contract for the fight had not been signed over a disagreement on the rematch clause.

Haye replied: "It's a whole hotpot of excuses. You sound like you're trying to get out of this fight."

The 28-year-old south Londoner added: "I'll win this in three rounds. I was going to say six, but after today I'm going for three."

The duo will clash in the ring on Saturday night, with the fight scheduled to begin at 11.15pm.
