Burton arrives at Charlton as Varney leaves

Charlton have signed Deon Burton from Sheffield Wednesday along with Jay McEveley from Derby County.

In a series of moves just over an hour before the loan deadline, striker Luke Varney has left the club for Derby in a three-month loan.

Both Burton, pictured, and Varney's moves are loans with views to permanent deals in January.

Defender McEveley, 26, signs in a three-month deal.
