Teen stabbed outside peace event

A teenager was stabbed in the lung as he left a peace convention at the Excel centre.
The attack outside the Global Peace and Unity event was one of two reported stabbings at the weekend, which also saw a man bundled into a car and attacked in a brutal robbery on Commercial Road.
The first incident took place after the first day of the Muslim conference on Saturday (October 25), when an 18-year-old sustained a collapsed lung in an attack by a large group outside the western entrance of the Royal Docks venue, pictured above, at around 10.40pm.
The victim, from North London, was taken to the Royal London Hospital, but doctors claim his condition is now stable and not life-threatening.
Police have not made any arrests and are calling on any witnesses to contact DC Wesley John-Baptiste at Plaistow Police Station on 0207 275 5885.
The following day a man was forced to limp back to his home wounded after being stabbed in the leg during a robbery near Limehouse.
The victim was standing outside the convenience store opposite the Troxy club on Commercial Road at around 8pm, when he heard someone shout at him.
Officers say a black man approached him from the front, while two others sneaked up behind him, forcing a balaclava over his head and eyes and bundling him into a car.
He was then punched and stabbed in the lower right leg and ordered to hand over his mobile phone and wallet, which contained just £20.
The attackers drove him around the area for a short while before throwing him out of the car east of Limehouse railway bridge.
Family members alerted the police after the victim returned home, having made his way home bleeding to his address.
He was treated in hospital for a non life-threatening injury and subsequently discharged.
Anyone with any information about this second stabbing can contact DC Pete MiCallef in the Robbery Squad on 020 8217 3834 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

i saw what happened and it was scary
PEACE AND UNITY!
all we got all day from them was abuse!
ditto on the abuse comment. I can't believe I was there when this happened!
It's horrid. It wasn't a peace and unity event at all. I had a feeling something like this would happen there.
I was at the GPU event on Sunday. I'd just like to say that not everyone who attended is an idiot and was abusive to the people at the other event (MCM Expo). Some of us were just there to meet other Muslims, hear some beneficial speeches and have a good time, not to settle scores with anyone. I personally never saw any fights and most of the conversations I managed to have over the noise in the exhibition hall were pleasant. I hope they move the event next year to a smaller venue which is less noisy which we can have to ourselves for the weekend (I have already written to the management about this and the other issues raised, including by the MCM Expo people).
I cosplayed at the MCM event. I didn't really spot any abuse either or get any personally but I did have to cheer up a friend who had been brought to tears by a member of the Peace and Unity Expo slating her costume when it was much more covering then the skin-tight things other were. All in all I think it was more of a timing and common sense issue for the expo arrangers then the people themselves - I must admit once I found out about the other event I felt a littly guilty in my maid costume but then again why should I? So many controversial issues... better to just avoid them and each other.
