IS it really possible to to have enough toys and gadgets in your life?

No sooner have you parted company with your hard-earned cash for a cutting edge mobile, than someone comes up with a Bluetooth-friendly, touch-screen, solar-powered version of it that makes the one you have just purchased look like it was hewn from granite by a Neanderthal with a very limited vocabulary.

Fortunately, help is at hand for Wharfers keen to stay at the forefront of technological innovation.

Stuff Live, Stuff Magazine’s showcase of everything gadget-related opens at the Excel centre on Friday.

Featuring around 60 exhibitors showcasing a wide range of mainstream and niche technology, the show will be open for three days.

And there are treats galore for the technophile.

On show will be SatNav giant TomTom’s new Go Live satellite navigation systems, the new
Archos Seven portable video player, a “top secret product launch from Universal Pictures and the latest incarnation of computer game franchise Guitar Hero – Guitar Hero World Tour.

In fact gamers will be spoilt for choice with a chance to try Playstation’s latest plethora of interactive titles including LittleBigPlanet, Motorstorm, the firm’s game show game Quiz TV, as well as combat game Resistance2.

Also featured will be the Nintendo Wii and visitors will have the chance to play Mario Kart.

If you are looking for something with more of a retro feel, why not try Bespoke Arcade’s custom-built arcade cabinets?

They all come complete with arcade classics such as Pacman, Streetfighter and Space Invaders.

However, the show is certainly not just for gamers with serious audio products also on offer from the likes of Denon and Tonium.

Gibson will also be showing off its self-tuning robot guitar for those who prefer to make music rather than listen to it.

And there will be a chance to wield this mighty axe for anyone keen to tear up the air.
