Screen: Whispers

IT'S time to begin the scramble for tickets to this year’s BFI London Film Festival.
The capital’s treasure trove of cinematic gems will be running this year from October 15 to 30. Public bookings for the 52nd festival began on Saturday as film fans started slavering over the 189 features and 108 shorts on offer.
Here’s a short run down of just some of the films you can expect this year.
Che Part One and Two: Steven Soderbergh’s study of Che Guevara’s campaigns in Cuba and Bolivia features Benicio Del Toro in two separate two-hour movies.
You can watch them both in one night on October 25 at the Odeon West End
Frost/Nixon: Frank Langella slips into the role of disgraced US president Richard Nixon in Ron Howard’s depiction of his encounter with British TV interviewer David Frost.
Odeon Leicester Square on October 15 and at Odeon West End on October 18
W: Oliver Stone takes on a biopic of George W Bush. It’s worth watching for the potential fireworks, as Josh Brolin plays the former party-boy and current president.
At Odeon Leicester Square on October 23 and Odeon West End on October 24
Gonzo: The Life And Work of Dr Hunter S Thompson: Documentary maker Alex Gibney took on Enron. Now he’s trying to capture the late gonzo journalist Dr Thompson. Family and friends club together to shed light on the hellraiser.
