A FUTURISTIC project overlooking Poplar Dock will be considered on Thursday.

Fast food giant McDonalds and Trafalgar Way Ltd are hoping to get planning permission for the Helix-London scheme, having already failed with a bid for a 397-unit scheme in May.

The new development, which will be built on the current site of the McDonalds drive-thru at Two Trafalgar Way, has been reduced to 355 units, and 48 residential units have been converted into serviced apartments.

It was previously rejected due to concerns over unit size and the air quality.

Helix-London features towers of 29 and 35 storeys.
