More gloom for DLR passengers

DLR commuters hoping for a better journey this morning were left disappointed.

The service was hit by a signal failure at West India Quay at rush hour.

The DLR suffered problems from 8:40am. Although it was fixed by 9:15am, the service was still suffering congestion throughout the morning.

By 10:30am a DLR spokesman said it was "getting back to normal".

The signalling problems were connected to yesterday's chaos which saw disruption most of the day between Bank and Canary Wharf.

The DLR press office is giving you spin rather than the full truth on this. The service was in a mess well before 8am.

And as for "getting back to normal"....

I tried to get onto Cutty Sark station at just before 8am, and was told that I had to walk to Island Gardens due to a failed train on the track that couldn't be moved, towards Lewisham.
They were then ferrying passengers from Island Gardens - Mudchute, and Mudchute - Canary Wharf and onwards.
I'd like to thank the DLR for completely ruining my day. :)
