Olympics attracts Wharf crowds

AA-aug14-olympics1web.jpgOLYMPIC fever hit Canary Wharf this afternoon, even though the action was happening thousands of miles away.

The big screen in Canada Square drew a large crowd to watch the spectacular opening ceremony live from Beijing.

Braving grey skies and a chilly breeze, hundreds of Wharfers took in the spectacle which featured drummers, fireworks and flags galore.

The watching crowd included a sizeable contingent from the Olympic Delivery Authority and the London Organising Committee, no doubt taking notes for their own opening ceremony in four years time.
