THIS is the first picture of a devastating fire on the Isle of Dogs.

Fire officers are investigating the blaze at a derelict vicarage at Strafford Street in Millwall.

This fire happened on Wednesday evening (August 27) and was followed by another on Thursday morning.

There were also reports of another fire at the site on Wednesday afternoon.

Six fire engines and 30 firefighters tackled the blaze at 9:47pm and managed to get it under control in three hours. Fire officers worked throughout the night to dampen the area.

The whole of the first floor and the roof were destroyed. No-one was injured.

This photo was captured by resident Simon Brouwer.
