THREE decades after they officially formed, The Neville Brothers will be taking to the Indigo2 stage for what promises to be an overwhelming event.

Charles, Aaron, Art and Cyril, an institution who have made an enormous contribution to rhythm and blues music, will all be on stage to bring their authentic sound to the UK.

From New Orleans to North Greenwich, this will be a rare opportunity to hear songs from all of their classic albums including Fiyo On The Bayou, Yellow Moon, Brother’s Keeper and Valance Street with the brothers’ blend of Southern R&B, soul, funk and a hint of reggae.

The brothers had been recording individually with varying levels of success since the ’60s but they did not collaborate as a foursome until the mid-1970s.

It took the death of their mother Amelia to change that. Art said: “Before she passed, she told me, ‘keep them boys together’.” With the aid of catalyst and family member Uncle George Landry, the union finally happened.

The result was The Wild Tchoupitoulas, the landmark project from 1976. That first taste of togetherness led to The Neville Brothers a year later, their debut album on Capitol leading to nearly three decades of recording, touring and singing.
