A WHARFER struck it lucky in the West India Quay hole-in-one challenge this week.

Ian Hiege won £2,000 in the competition which sees golfers fire balls towards a temporary green in the middle of the marina.

Ian's shot hit the flag before dropping in to the hole to earn him the star prize.

One of the organisers, Ken Coetzee said: "He was ecstatic."

There's still a weekend of play left at the golf challenge, as it is finishing on Sunday.

It costs £5 for three shots and 10 per cent of the fee goes to the male cancer charity, Orchid.

The competition has been running for two weeks. Pictured right is a golfer.
