LUXURY car maker Porsche is eyeing up a new home in Canary Wharf.

The German company has put in a bid to move into a vacant ground-level space at 20 Canada Square, next door to the Sytner BMW showroom.

An application has been filed with Tower Hamlets Council to tinker with the doors, glazing and layout to convert the space from office use.

The new base, if approved, will still be a safe distance outside the congestion charge zone. Porsche attracted attention by launching a judicial review against an increase in the charge, which it described as “unjust”.

The nearest dealership is currently in Stratford.
