POLICE are appealing for information on three men after a row over a takeaway ended in a vicious assault at a DLR station.

The victim, a 29-year-old man from Poplar was punched so hard in the face he needed two operations to fix a fractured jaw.

It happened following argument with a man on the opposite platform at All Saints DLR, who had been throwing the leftovers of a chicken and chips takeaway at him.

The suspect then crossed to the other platform before attacking the victim.

Officers at the British Transport Police are now looking for three men who may have information.

DS Gabriel Oresajo, the investigating officer, said: "This was a vicious attack on a man who was simply making his way home after work and I am asking anyone with any information about this assault, or who may recognise any of the men pictured in the CCTV images, to come forward.

"We are working to trace any other witnesses and I ask anyone who was at the station at the time to contact police.”

Police were called following the attack but the attacker fled on a train to Poplar. The incident took place on Wednesday May 28 at about 6:40pm.
