More top betting tips from the wizard of odds
Betbrokers' Nigel Seeley - "The Wizard of Odds" - gives his tips for the week:
ASTON Villa's Ashley Young wasn't the only person to hit the crossbar last weekend!
We just missed out on a small fortune when Villa were held 2-2 by Everton, ending our hopes of a very nice treble. But our two other suggestions, Sunderland and Sheffield United, did the business to net us a tidy £28.43 profit.
This weekend sees the conclusion of the Championship. With so many teams fighting for their lives at both ends of the division it's hard to have a serious wager as the form book always goes out of the window on the final day.
So we'll concentrate on the Premier League and raise our stakes with some serious betting prospects.
Statistically, at this time of the season Premier League matches produce a lot more goals than usual but it's hard to make a case for the clash between Middlesbrough and Portsmouth at the Riverside.
In the last eight matches between the two just one game has produced more than two goals.
Middlesbrough need one point to secure Premier League status, while Portsmouth have one eye on the FA Cup final. It makes the 4/5 available on the game producing less than two goals very tempting.
Reports suggest all is not well at the City of Manchester Stadium, with Sven Goran Eriksson looking increasingly unlikely to be manager next season.
Sven's men won't relish the short trip to Anfield to face Liverpool, after going down 3-2 at home to Fulham last weekend.
The Reds are bang in form, losing only once in 17 matches - against Man Utd. At Anfield they have only lost once all season and look good for the win.
"The Wizard" doesn't like tipping big odds-on selections but Blackburn have to be a serious bet at 1/3 to beat Derby at Ewood Park.
Rovers still have a chance of European football next season and have only lost two matches in their last 10.
The Rams, with just seven goals scored and 43 conceded on their travels, look to have absolutely no chance of registering their first away win of the season at a ground where the home side haven't lost this year.
