A STASH of replica guns were stolen from a house in the Isle of Dogs.

Firearms including pistols, assault rifles, submachine guns and hand grenades were all part of the collection taken in a burglary last week.

Police believe the replica guns are safe but pleaded for information.

PC David Tan said: "To our knowledge none of the guns can be converted for use and they have never been operational."

In total there were 15 guns taken from the address at Argyle House, Marshfield Street, which is just off Manchester Road.

The guns were valued at between £80 and £120 when they bought between 1978 and 1983. The incident happened some time between Thursday April 3 at 1pm and Monday April 7 at 3:30pm.

Call PC Tan on 020 8217 6689 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
