Facebook sites for Thames Clippers and ExCeL centre
FACEBOOK is infiltrating Docklands life with two new groups being set up on the social networking site.
Thames Clippers users have the chance to debate the service of the London riverboats, while ExCeL London fans can join a group giving discounted tickets for events.
The Clippers group was started by Neil Andrews, a greetings card salesman, after he recently had problems with the ferries. “I got the service from the very first week it started and feel passionate about it; it’s part of my life,” he said. “I want it to be a success so set up a forum to voice any concerns.”
The managing director of the Clippers service, Sean Collins, said he supported the group and will have a member of his staff monitoring it for feedback.
“Any way of getting people’s views on our service is helpful,” he said. “We’ve increased the service by 75 per cent since November and we recognise we’re not getting it exactly right.”
If you are a member of Facebook you can find the group by typing ‘Thames Clippers’ in the site’s search box.
The ExCeL centre in the Royal Docks has a group which allows its members access to competitions, discounts on show tickets and information on upcoming events.
You can access this by going to www.excel-london.co.uk, clicking on ‘visitor’ and then on the Facebook link.
