DOCKLANDS businesses enjoyed an afternoon of networking.

The Ramada’s Docklands hotel played host to a lunchtime get-together of Docklands Business Club members last Wednesday (February 13).

Members were gearing up for the next major business club event, which sees new Thames Gateway figurehead Peter Andrews spill the beans on plans for Canning Town and Custom House.

The London Thames Gateway Development Corporation’s chief executive will be presenting details of the £2.7billion regeneration plan scheduled to run from this year until 2022. The project will feature a new town centre, shopping malls, commercial properties, housing and major public transport upgrades.

Mr Andrews joined the Corporation in June 2005, after 20 years as a chartered surveyor dealing with urban regeneration and development.

A talk for Docklands Business Club and East London Chamber of Commerce and Industry members will be held at Knowledge Dock at the University of East London at 8.30am on March 5.

Interested members should book in advance. Further details are available from www.docklandsbusiness.org.uk.
