Stations ban for misogynist dlr pest
A WOMAN-HATER who harassed staff and passengers on the Docklands Light Railway was spared prison despite pleading to be sent to jail.
Danny Serieux has previously spent time in prison for other crimes committed on the railway network.
The judge took this into account at Blackfriars Crown Court on Monday (October 8) and said that instead of sending the 42-year-old back to prison, he would give him an Anti-Social Behaviour Order.
Serieux was convicted at an earlier hearing of tormenting a DLR ticket inspector at Canary Wharf station over a three-month period.
Sentencing him, Judge Henry Blacksell said: "You've served a period of four months plus in custody in relation to these matters.
"Despite you wishing me to do so, I'm not going to impart a custodial sentence. I want you to get on with your life."
The Judge added that the public deserved protection from Serieux and gave him a two-year conditional discharge and also kept in place an ASBO which was previously given to the defendant as part of his bail conditions.
The ASBO prevents Serieux from attending any public transport station inside the M25 without intending to buy a ticket to travel.
It also bans him from attending a number of stations in east London, including Canary Wharf, Limehouse, West India Quay, Westferry, Blackwall, East India Dock and Poplar, although he is allowed to travel through these stations on a train.
It was heard at an earlier hearing that Serieux, of Bowsprit Point in Westferry Road, Isle of Dogs, has a misogynist personality disorder.
He was sentenced at Blackfriars for harassing the ticket inspector over a three-month period from January 2005, which began after she asked to look at his ticket.
Judge Blacksell also took into account a conviction for harassing a passenger, from a case heard at Stratford Magistrates Court in September.
