Donachie feels the heat after home defeats

TIME is running out for Willie Donachie after three consecutive home defeats.
Indeed, if by the time you read this we have lost on Tuesday night against Northampton, it could well be the end of the road for Donachie as Millwall manager.
As I have been banging on about for most of the season, Donachie is seemingly making it hard for himself.

He has said a couple of times now that he does not believe in formations or systems, he believes players can adapt to play anywhere.
Just five points from 24 would suggest otherwise though. At the moment Donachie is making a bad situation worse with what appears to be an 'everyone's wrong but me' approach that is angering supporters when they see bizarre decisions from the management.
Three simple things will help. One, we need to line up in a good old-fashioned 4-4-2 formation. Two, we have got to stop playing a huge amount of players out of position.
Three, Chris Hackett must start matches as he provides the width and delivery we need to score goals.
There has been a lot of debate amongst Millwall supporters in the last week as to whether our own players should get stick from the home crowd during games if they are making mistakes on the pitch. Back in the old days it was the opposition players that got the stick and that's what made The Den a place that opposition players did not enjoy visiting.
Millwall striker Ben May actually left the club this week on loan to Scunthorpe and stated the treatment he was getting from fans as the reason he left.
It's a vicious circle for sure. Things are going badly, so the fans take it out on the players, who in turn resent the fans, who, in turn give the players more stick, which has a completely negative effect.
Us supporters do have to have a bit of a reality check and realise that we are a third division club that is losing money hand over fist so we cannot keep sacking managers.
But on the flip side what are you supposed to do when you are passionate about your club, but you have lost all confidence in the current manager being able to arrest the decline and you see the club slipping down the leagues?
